Eyelid lumps & bumps can be unsightly and uncomfortable, affecting both the appearance and health of your eyes. There are various types of eyelid lump and bump removal surgeries, such as Papillomas, xanthelasma removal, chalazion (stye) removal and cyst removal. Eyelid bumps like styes or chalazion occur when the eyelid gland that produces oil to lubricate the edges of the eyes becomes clogged. Our Eyelid Lump & Bump Removal treatment is designed to safely and effectively remove these unwanted growths, restoring the natural look and feel of your eyelids.

How Does Eyelid Bump & Lump
Treatment Work?
First, you can try treating your eyelid bump at home if it is a stye or chalazion. Use a warm compress and gently massage the area to help clear the oily blockage. You can also use diluted baby shampoo to clean the surface. Usually, these bumps will go away by themselves in 2 weeks. If home treatments don’t work, we will examine your eyelids to determine the nature of your eyelid lump or bump. If the bump is quite big, we might need to drain it. We will numb the area with a local anaesthetic before making a small cut inside the eyelid (so no visible scar). The procedure is quick and often completed within 10 minutes. Post-procedure care is straightforward, with most patients resuming normal activities within a few days.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long will it take for eyelid lumps to go away?
Most eyelid lumps like chalazion or stye go away on their own within a few weeks to a month and don’t need much medical treatment. You can help them heal by putting warm, wet cloths on your eyelid for 10 to 15 minutes, 4 to 6 times a day for a few days. This can help soften the hard oil that’s blocking the ducts and help the lump drain and heal.
Is the eyelid bump removal procedure painful?
No, the procedure is performed under local anaesthesia to ensure comfort.
How long is the recovery period?
Most patients experience minimal downtime, typically returning to normal activities within a few days.
Will I have any visible scars after the eyelid bump treatment?
Our procedure aims to minimise scarring, and any minor marks will fade over time.
Is eyelid lump and bump removal safe?
Yes, eyelid lump and bump removal is generally a safe procedure when performed by an experienced surgeon. Our clinic follows strict safety rules to ensure the best results with minimal risks.
Can eyelid lumps & bumps reoccur after removal?
While most lumps and bumps like chalazia do not reoccur after removal, it’s important to address any underlying causes to prevent future occurrences.
How should I care for my eyelids after the procedure?
After the procedure, you should follow your surgeon’s aftercare instructions carefully. This usually includes keeping the area clean, avoiding makeup until fully healed, and using any prescribed ointments or medications to aid in healing.
