Crow's Feet
Crow's feet are fine lines and wrinkles that form around the outer corners of your eyes, often becoming more noticeable with age. At Perfect Eyes Clinic, we offer personalised, non-invasive treatments to reduce the visibility of crow's feet.

What is Crow's Feet?
Wrinkles that appear at the outer corners of the eyes and extend towards the temples are commonly referred to as crow's feet. The name "crow's feet" originated from the way the lines spread out, resembling the shape of a crow's claw or foot.
The skin surrounding the eyes is thinner than in other facial areas, making it more fragile, which is why most people experience the first signs of ageing there. While crow's feet and wrinkles around the eyes are a normal part of ageing, they are also one of the most prevalent concerns related to getting older.

Causes of Crow's Feet
Ageing
As you get older, your body naturally produces less collagen and elastin, the proteins responsible for keeping your skin firm and flexible. This reduction can cause the skin to lose its elasticity and lead to wrinkles around the eyes.
Facial Expressions
Every time you smile, frown, squint, or laugh, the muscles around your eyes contract. Over time, these repeated facial movements can create wrinkles in the delicate skin surrounding your eyes.
Sun Exposure
Exposure to the sun's UV rays can damage the collagen and elastin in your skin. The skin becomes more prone to wrinkles as a result of this breakdown, and the area around your eyes is particularly susceptible to sun damage.
Smoking
Smoking speeds up the appearance of wrinkles by reducing oxygen flow to the skin and causing collagen and elastin to break down faster than usual.
Genetics
For some, developing crow's feet is simply in their genes. If your family members are prone to wrinkles around the eyes, you might be more likely to experience them as well.
Hormonal Changes
Hormonal shifts, particularly during menopause, can accelerate the ageing process, making wrinkles and fine lines appear more quickly.

Frequently asked questions
Call or email us today, we would be delighted to answer your questions.
- Keep the skin around your eyes moisturised with a good moisturiser to soften wrinkles. An effective moisturiser is one of the best natural ways to reduce crow's feet and other wrinkles.
- Coconut oil may be beneficial for reducing crow's feet as it contains a high amount of vitamin E and linoleic acid, which can help repair skin tissues. Applying a small amount of extra virgin coconut oil around your eyes before bed can help delay the appearance of wrinkles and crow's feet.
- Crow's feet naturally show up as we get older, so it's hard to make them disappear completely. But you can make them less noticeable by making some healthy choices in your life, such as regular exercise and a balanced diet.
- You might first see crow's feet when you're in your 30s. Depending on how you take care of your skin and your family traits, you might not see them until you're in your 40s.
- As we age, crow's feet can show up and be more noticeable in men compared to women. This might happen because men may not protect their skin as much by wearing sunglasses or sunscreen.
