What is Morpheus8?
Morpheus8 is a clinically supervised fractional radiofrequency (RF) microneedling treatment that delivers controlled energy to the deeper layers of the skin. This process stimulates collagen and elastin production, helping to improve skin firmness, elasticity, and texture.
It may be considered for mild to moderate skin laxity, fine wrinkles, and post-surgical contour irregularities in suitable patients. Morpheus8 can be used on the face, neck, and eyelid region under expert guidance.

How Does Morpheus8 Procedure Work?
The procedure is performed in a clinical setting under topical or local anaesthesia. A hand-held Morpheus8 device delivers radiofrequency energy through fine microneedles into the dermal layers. This controlled thermal effect encourages collagen remodelling and tissue contraction.
Treatment typically lasts around 45-60 minutes. A series of 1-5 sessions, spaced 3-6 weeks apart, may be recommended depending on the clinical indication.
Key clinical considerations: Treatment parameters are customised based on individual skin assessment. Results develop gradually as collagen renewal occurs over several weeks. Temporary side effects such as redness or mild swelling may occur.

The questions patients ask most often, answered by the clinic. If yours isn’t here, ask us directly - we would be delighted to help.
- Yes, Morpheus8 can be used cautiously in the periocular area to help improve skin texture, mild puffiness, and fine wrinkles under medical supervision.
- Morpheus8 is not suitable for patients with active skin infections, eczema, rosacea, or those who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or taking certain medications such as isotretinoin. Individuals with implanted electronic devices (e.g., pacemakers) should also avoid RF treatments.
- Morpheus8 is great for people who are busy and want to look younger but don't have a lot of time. Morpheus8 is most suited for people in their 30s, 40s, and 50s who have mild to moderate skin problems, with good thick subcutaneous fat.
- Potential Side Effects of Morpheus8 Treatments:
1) Swelling
2) Redness
3) Scabbing
4) Bruising
5) Soreness
6) Fat loss or reduction in recent filler volume
7) Discolouration - Surgical blepharoplasty is great for fixing loose eyelid skin and puffy eyelids that are more severe. It's considered the best option, with only a few weeks of recovery time and long-lasting results of over 10 years. Morpheus8 is a new way to tighten loose skin and serves as an excellent alternative to surgery. It gently corrects moderately loose skin without the need for surgery. For malar bags, you might need 3-4 sessions every 4-6 weeks. This makes it a good choice for those who want a gradual and scar-free correction.
- Before the treatment, a numbing cream is applied to clean the skin and left on for 20-30 minutes. However, some patients might still feel a bit of heat and discomfort during the treatment. After the session, there could be some redness and swelling in the treated area, which might feel a bit sore.
- Morpheus8 is an outpatient treatment, so you can go home right after the procedure. Your eyelids might swell temporarily after the treatment, but this usually goes away within 48-72 hours. You might be advised to take oral anti-inflammatory medication. Redness from the treatment may last anywhere from 4 to 21 days. It's important not to scratch, pick, or rub the treated area, as this can cause pinkish skin discolouration or hypo/hyperpigmentation. You'll need to use a special serum rich in growth factors twice a day for 4 weeks to help the healing process. Also, make sure to apply SPF50 twice a day to protect the treated area.
