Advantages of Superior Sulcus & Temple Fillers
Non-Surgical Approach
This treatment is non-invasive which offers a significant improvement in facial contours without the need for surgery, reducing recovery time and risk.
Minimal Downtime
With Superior sulcus & temple fillers, most patients experience minimal to no downtime, allowing them to resume their normal activities almost immediately.
Long-Lasting Effects
The results can last up to two years, providing a long-term solution to volume loss and facial ageing.
Restores Volume Loss
Superior sulcus fillers effectively restore the volume of deflated eye brows and temple fillers effectively restore volume in the temple area, which can become hollow with age, providing a more youthful appearance and supporting the brow.
What are Superior Sulcus & Temple Fillers?
This involves injecting small amounts of transparent hyaluronic acid gel into the temporal areas or a hollow upper lid (called "A frame deformity"). This adds volume to the region, creating a "fresher look" and can help patients achieve a lifted look without surgery.
This method stretches and lifts the skin around the upper eye area, addressing facial volume loss in the temple hollows and enhancing facial structure by lifting the cheeks, ultimately rejuvenating the appearance.

How Does Superior Sulcus & Temple Fillers Procedure Work?
Immediate result - perfect for those seeking an instant improvement. Minimal downtime - can return to work straight away. Unrivalled expertise - performed by a leading oculoplastic surgeon.
Dr Sabrina frequently employs an ultrasound to examine the area before administering injections to ensure the most effective injection technique. Dermal fillers contain an anaesthetic known as lidocaine, which minimises discomfort. However, a numbing cream is often applied 15 minutes before the procedure.
The hyaluronic acid-based filler is then inserted into the superior sulcus hollow or temple hollow using a cannula. The blunt tip of the cannula reduces the risk of puncturing any vessels, making it well-suited for this high-risk area. Following the injection, the hollow cavity is eliminated, and the upper-eye and lateral eyebrow hollows are noticeably reduced. The entire process usually takes approximately 15 minutes.

The questions patients ask most often, answered by the clinic. If yours isn’t here, ask us directly - we would be delighted to help.
- Following superior sulcus filler, you will typically see immediate results.
- There is minimal downtime associated with superior sulcus filler. However, you may experience some bruising, redness, or swelling in the treated area, which usually resolves within a few days and can be concealed with makeup.
- Hyaluronic acid-based dermal fillers contain an anaesthetic called lidocaine, which reduces discomfort. Therefore, the use of numbing cream is generally unnecessary. However, if you are concerned about discomfort, numbing cream can be applied beforehand.
- Treatment with filler in the superior sulcus cavity can last up to two years due to it being a closed compartment.
- Following treatment, it is possible to experience irregularities in contour, incomplete improvement, or "overcorrection" of the superior sulcus hollow, although this is rare.
- Mild side effects near the injection area may include swelling, redness, pain, bruising, rash, and itching. These usually go away on their own in a week or two.
- Seek immediate emergency medical assistance if you encounter any of the following symptoms:
Infection or signs of infection
Filler leaking out of the injection site
Growths or nodules near the injection site
Vision loss or changes in vision
Severe pain or bruising
Difficulty breathing or swallowing - In rare cases, facial fillers can cause long-term damage, such as tissue death or vision loss, if the filler is injected into arteries that supply blood to the eyes or if there is a blockage in blood flow.
- After getting hollow temple filler treatment, it's important not to sleep on your temples or put any pressure on them for a few days. Rather, sleep with your face facing upward on your back. Also, avoid drinking too much alcohol and doing intense exercise for 24 hours after the procedure.
